Introducing Employee Retention Solutions

To provide businesses across Upstate New York with a holistic solution for payroll, employee benefits, and retirement, two of the region’s top professional services executives—Shaun Anderson and Kate Kenney—have teamed with RDG+Partners to form Employee Retention Solutions (ERS).

The new Pittsford-based company is co-located with RDG+Partners offices, with both organizations sharing multiple personnel, technological and physical resources to assist current and new clients. ERS will now act as the coordinating entity for RDGpayroll, RDGbenefits, and RDGretirement services.

“Small and mid-size business owners have to balance many competing priorities. Even when they outsource services such as payroll, benefits, and retirement, they are typically working with multiple firms, meaning they still spend significant time with each. By bringing all of these services into the fold with Employee Retention Solutions, we’re able to offer a cross-functional team that has a more complete understanding of their business. The result is efficiency—in both time and cost,” said Kenney, managing partner for ERS.

The synergy between Employee Retention Solutions and RDG’s accounting teams is also proving beneficial for clients. For instance, ERS was able to provide rapid, comprehensive guidance for payroll tax-related questions spurred by the Employee Retention Credit within the new coronavirus stimulus legislation.

RDGbenefits offers strategic benefits planning, negotiation and advisory, and helps clients coordinate group benefits, voluntary benefits, HRS, HSA and FSA accounts, short-term and long-term disability, and more. RDGpayroll’s services include payroll processing, time and attendance, pay-as-you-go workers’ compensation insurance, and human resources. And RDGretirement works with employers to set up and maintain a host of 401(k) and IRA options for employees. All services are enhanced by proven technology and boutique-level service for streamlined processes.

Over the past five years, RDG+Partners has seen significant growth. In 2016, a partnership resulted in the addition of wealth management services, then a merger brought expanded tax capabilities later that same year. Last fall, the firm launched its payroll division with industry veteran Lauren Burns. Its latest venture to create Employee Retention Solutions builds on the model.

Anderson brings more than 15 years of experience to the new firm, having most recently served as vice president of sales at ADP. In that role, he supported the company’s growth throughout Upstate New York. Anderson holds a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and serves on several community boards and committees, including his active participation in Leadership Rochester.

Kenney has more than 20 years of professional services experience. Prior to launching Employee Retention Solutions, she was most recently partner and senior vice president at ProNexus, where she supported the strategic expansion and growth of the brand while overseeing the firm’s client service, marketing, and operations teams. Kenney earned her bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Oswego and plays an active role in the Rochester community as chair of the Community Impact Cabinet at the United Way of Greater Rochester and a recently appointed board member at Bivona Child Advocacy Center.

“We have been focused on expanding a team of experts in a variety of professional services that provide significant value to our clients and support the growth of their businesses,” said John Rizzo, CPA, managing partner for RDG+Partners. “Shaun and Kate are leaders in the employee retention field. They bring a depth of experience that new and existing clients can leverage to help take their organizations to the next level.”
