Employee Retention Solutions Expands Team with Acquisition and Additional Partners

To further expand its holistic payroll, employee benefits, and retirement offerings for businesses across Upstate New York, Employee Retention Solutions (ERS)—an RDG+Partners company—has more than doubled the size of its team through an acquisition and the addition of new partners in its wealth division.

ERS finalized its acquisition of Nagel Consulting, an employee benefits firm previously located in Greece. Jeffrey Nagel brings more than 30 years of experience to ERS, where he is now a director. He holds his Registered Health Underwriter and Registered Employee Benefits Consultant certifications, as well as a master’s in business administration from the State University of New York at Buffalo. The acquisition also included two staff members.

In addition, ERS has welcomed a new partner to its wealth division. Kyle McDermott have joined the firm to broaden its corporate and personal wealth services with their collective decades of experience in sought-after employee retention strategies. McDermott holds CFP® and AIF® designations as well. The division also hired an additional associate.

“Our model elevates the client experience with concierge-level service and streamlined processes while providing their payroll, benefits and retirement solutions. The addition of Jeff, Kyle and their teams further deepens our expertise,” said Kate Kenney, managing partner for ERS.

As a company, ERS is the coordinating entity for RDGpayroll, RDGbenefits, and RDGwealth services, the combination of which provide value to the firm’s small and midsize business (SMB) clients. The new ERS partners and team members have relocated to “The Winthrop,” the newly renovated offices at which RDG+Partners and ERS are co-located in Rochester’s East End. Together, the organizations share personnel, technological and physical resources to more efficiently serve clients.

“It can be difficult for SMBs to find a single firm that is strong in payroll, benefits, and retirement, so they often end up with separate vendors for each function,” said Shaun Anderson, managing partner, ERS. “At ERS, we’ve worked hard to build an experienced team made up of professionals who are true experts in these areas so we can provide SMBs with a holistic solution that saves them time and money. They no longer have to worry about coordinating different vendors because here, that collaboration already exists.”

RDGpayroll offers services including payroll processing, time and attendance, pay-as-you-go workers’ compensation insurance, and human resources. ERS also provides HRIS solutions through payroll companies such as ADP, Paylocity and Paychex. RDGbenefits provides strategic benefits planning, negotiation, and consultation, and helps clients coordinate group benefits, voluntary benefits, HRA, HSA and FSA accounts, short-term and long-term disability, and more. And RDGwealth works with employers, staff and high-wealth individuals to plan for the future. All ERS services are enhanced by proven technology and boutique-level service for streamlined processes.
